HOW LINCOLN LOGS CAME TO BE
Nicole Jennings and her family had been looking for a mountain property for years. They wanted something real: a place with character, surrounded by nature, far enough from the noise of daily life to actually feel like a getaway. When they found Lincoln Logs sitting in the Blue Ridge foothills, the decision didn’t take long. They purchased the cabin, spent time getting it right, and opened it up to guests who were looking for the same thing they were.
Blue Ridge wasn’t a random choice. The mountains, the river, the small-town feel with enough to do that you never run out of reasons to stay another day. For the Jennings family, it quickly became the kind of place you plan your next trip back before the current one is over.
WHY LINCOLN LOGS?
The cabin is built from hand-hewn logs, and the name felt honest. Lincoln Logs is what it looks like: a real log structure in the mountains, the kind you’d sketch as a kid. No clever branding, no invented backstory. Just a name that fits the place.
MEET NICOLE AND THE JENNINGS FAMILY
Nicole grew up with a deep appreciation for hospitality done right. She spent two decades working in high-end hotels and resorts, learning what it actually takes to make guests feel taken care of. Outside of work, she and her family spent those same years traveling the world and staying in owner-operated properties across Europe, South America, and the American South. They know firsthand what separates a forgettable rental from one you talk about for years.
Between us, we have spent two decades working in high-end hospitality and two more staying in owner-rented properties across the world. We know what it feels like when a host gets it right and what it feels like when they don’t. When we found Lincoln Logs, we knew we had the chance to get it right.
WE’RE INVESTED IN BLUE RIDGE, NOT JUST THE PROPERTY
There is a version of vacation rental ownership that treats a community as a commodity. That’s not us. Blue Ridge is not a market opportunity for us. It is the place we chose, the people we know, and the land we are committed to taking care of.
The Jennings family shops local, supports Blue Ridge businesses, and tries to leave the land around the cabin in better shape than they found it. When guests ask for recommendations, they give them the honest ones, not the sponsored ones.
WHAT A STAY WITH US ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
We want you to feel like you are staying with family, not renting from a stranger. That means the cabin is stocked, the details are taken care of, and if something comes up you can reach us directly. We are not a call center.
Guests arrive to a stocked kitchen, fresh linens, and a handwritten note with our personal recommendations for the area. If anything comes up during your stay, you have a direct line to us and we will respond. That is a promise, not a policy.
